Eels skipper Clint Gutherson has reportedly re-signed with Parramatta on a three-year deal.
A Seven report states the club came to an agreement with Gutherson after months of negotiations and an announcement will be made today.
It was previously reported that both sides were at odds over the length and value of the contract, with Gutherson’s manager Sam Ayoub pushing for a four-year deal.
But it appears Brad Arthur’s re-signing with the club for another two years played a part in the skipper’s decision to end the impasse and re-commit to the Eels.
Gutherson appeared on Fox Sports’ League Life on Wednesday night and highlighted how long-term security was a sticking point with the deal.
“It was more the length of the deal, it was something that I wanted — a lot of security — I’m 25 this year, and I just wanted to know where I’d be playing and try and set that up for the next three or four years.
More to come …
