Shilpa Shetty will not be served summons in Raj Kundra case, confirms Mumbai police – Times of India

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra have been given some reprieve in the ongoing investigation after the arrest of Kundra in a case relating to pornography. A source close to Mumbai police has revealed to ETimes that Shilpa will not be served a summon in the Raj Kundra case as was being speculated in the last few days.

Speaking to ETimes on condition of anonymity the source revealed, “Shilpa Shetty is one of the directors of Viaan Industries while the police investigation is probing into Kenrin only.” Kenrin is a UK-based company and owner of the HotShots app, where the alleged porn content was distributed.

Kenrin is owned by Kundra’s brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi, who is a British citizen and is married to Kundra’s sister. He is the Chairman of Kenrin, the company directly being held responsible in the pornography-related case. At a recent press briefing Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) had said, “Though the company was registered in London, the content creation, operation of the app and accounting was done through Kundra’s Viaan Industries.”

He was arrested by Mumbai police on Monday for his alleged involvement in a case involving the production and distribution of pornographic content through mobile based apps. His firm’s IT head Ryan Thorpe was also arrested in this case. They produced in the Esplanade Court in Mumbai on Tuesday. Kundra is currently in police custody will tomorrow, July 23.
